S4 win Basketball and Netball; S6 take Football and Volleyball as Deputy Headteacher Administration Ms. Akinyi Millicent awards the champions.
The atmosphere at Naalya Secondary School Bweyogerere Campus was electric this past weekend as the school hosted the highly anticipated Candidates’ End of Year Games for 2026. It was a day of fierce rivalry, sportsmanship, and celebration as the S4 class, AUREXIS, faced off against the S6 class, LOS BENDITOS, in a multi-sport showdown.
The event, designed to foster camaraderie and physical fitness among the candidate classes, saw students turn out in large numbers to cheer on their peers. The air was thick with excitement as the two classes battled for supremacy across four major disciplines.
A Split Decision
The competition was nothing short of thrilling, resulting in a deadlock of dominance. The S4 class (AUREXIS) showcased incredible agility and coordination, emerging victorious in Basketball and Netball. Their teamwork on the court was a sight to behold, setting a high bar for the day’s events.
However, the S6 class (LOS BENDITOS) refused to be outdone. Displaying the maturity and resilience expected of finalists, they dominated the field and the court, securing wins in both Football and Volleyball.
Honouring the Champions
The climax of the event was the awarding ceremony, graced by the Deputy Headteacher Administration, Ms. Akinyi Millicent, who attended as the Chief Guest. Joined by the class teachers, Ms. Akinyi commended the students for their discipline and energy.
In her address, the Chief Guest emphasised that while winning is important, the spirit of participation and unity is the true prize. She congratulated the champions in the different games, handing over trophies and certificates to the winning teams.
“The energy displayed today by both AUREXIS and LOS BENDITOS is a testament to the vibrant student life we cherish at Naalya Bweyogerere,” Ms. Akinyi remarked. “To the candidates, may this same fighting spirit propel you to success in your upcoming national examinations.”
