In a demonstration of unwavering commitment to cultural heritage and community development, the administration of Naalya Secondary Schools comprising the Namugongo, Bweyogerere, and Lugazi campuses paid a courtesy visit to the offices of the Katikiro of Buganda at Bulange Mengo.

The delegation, led by the Headteacher of Bweyogerere Campus and senior administrators, was warmly received by the Katikiro, Owekitibwa Charles Peter Mayiga. The visit, which took place earlier this week, was a gesture of goodwill and a reaffirmation of the school’s dedication to supporting the Kingdom’s initiatives that promote health, unity, and the well-being of the youth.

During the meeting, the Katikiro commended Naalya Secondary Schools for its longstanding reputation as a center of academic excellence and discipline. He emphasized the vital role that educational institutions play in preserving the kingdom’s cultural values and fostering responsible citizens. Discussions centered on the partnership between schools and the kingdom in nurturing holistic development among students.

The highlight of the visit was the school’s official contribution of Uganda Shillings Five Million (UGX 5,000,000) towards the upcoming Kabaka’s Birthday Run. This annual event, spearheaded by the Katikiro, is a cornerstone initiative aimed at mobilizing resources to combat the spread of HIV/AIDS and promote a healthy lifestyle among the people of Buganda and Uganda at large.

The Office of the Schools’ Director expressed pride in supporting a cause that aligns with the institution’s values of service and social responsibility.

“Naalya Secondary Schools believes in nurturing the mind, body, and spirit. The Kabaka’s Birthday Run is not just a cultural event; it is a life-saving campaign. By contributing to this cause, we are teaching our students the importance of giving back to the community and taking a stand against health challenges like HIV/AIDS,” the Director remarked.

The delegation expressed gratitude to the Katikiro for his visionary leadership and pledged continued collaboration between the schools and the Kingdom in future initiatives. They reaffirmed that Naalya Secondary Schools remains a proud supporter of Buganda’s cultural institutions and developmental programs.

The visit concluded with an exchange of pleasantries and a collective prayer for the continued prosperity of the Kingdom, the Kabaka, and the students of Naalya Secondary Schools.
